The Errand Box for the student helpers is now located on the 4th floor.
It is in the 4th drawer of the file cabinet in the hall near Eileen's
office.  The scale and postage meter are now in Naomi's room, 408.

The current student helper hours are posted inside the Errand Drawer.  
There is also a supply of the task forms in that drawer (left rear).

Since CSL has a couple 'new' administrators, I am sending a copy of
the CSL Student Assistant Guidelines.  If you have any questions,
please let me know.

                  CSL Student Assistant Guidelines

A.  Fill out a TASK form for  ALL  jobs* -- "Write it, don't say it".
    Put in ERRAND box in hall file cabinet near Room 408.
    Administrators and faculty only are allowed to put items in the 
        ERRAND box.

B.  All envelopes that are to be delivered must be marked "DELIVER" 
or they will be put into the ERA Courier/Pick-Up box in the 3B 
Copy Room 377.  Following is a list of ERA's delivery/pick-up 
points, which are at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.:

	1  Terman - 1st Floor Drop-off / 2nd Floor Pickup
	2  Godzilla / ERA & EE
	3  C.I.S. Loading Dock
	4a  Gates Rm# 176  -  For Floors 1 and 2
	4b  Gates Rm# 377  -  For Floors 3 and 4
	5  Stauffer III, Rm# 113 - For ChE
	6  Encina Hall  -  Curbside drop-off for A/P and T/R
	7  857 Serra  - GCA
	8  855 Serra  - Payroll
	9  Bldg. 530 Mailroom - ME
	10  Bldg. 550 - MS&E
	11  Durand 
	12  Terman - 1st Floor Drop-off / 2nd Floor Pickup
	13  Godzilla / ERA & EE

C.  Errands that involve picking up:  Item(s) should be ready when the 
student assistant arrives at the destination.  Exceptions:  Bookstore 
and Petty Cash.  Bookstore:  Call in advance for books.  

D.  Normally, the student assistant will not deliver to Welch Road;  i.e., 
Procurement, OTL.  The only exception will be if the helper has a 
bicycle and is willing to go.  This request must be made to Darlene.  
ERA (Thermon) will usually deliver envelopes addressed to 
Procurement.  This is not an 'official' ERA courier delivery --
Thermon does it on his own. 

E.  Outgoing U.S. and Foreign Mail:  
   1.  Mail should be placed inside the wooden box (on the right) in 
       the ERRAND drawer by 3 p.m. or before the student assistants
       leave for the day.
   2.  All mail must have the amount of the postage written in the 
       upper right-hand corner.  If this is blank, it will be stamped 
       with 32 cents.  A scale and postage rate sheets are available.
   3.  Mail must also have the name of the professor who will pay 
       for the postage.  If this is not provided, it will not be sent.

F.  Federal Express:  Packets must be in the ERRAND drawer by 2:45 
p.m.  The student assistant will take them down to the Gates loading 
dock in time for the 3:00 p.m. pick-up.  If you miss the regular 
pick-up time and we have a student assistant that day/time, packets 
will be dropped off in the FedEx box near CIS by the 4:45 p.m. 
pick-up time.  These should be ready by 4:30 p.m. at the latest.

G.  Once the work schedule for the student assistants has been set,
it will be posted in the ERRAND drawer.
