Commercial Applications and Tools for Reconfigurable Logic

The characteristics of near term commercially viable applications are
defined.  These will be presented as a counterpoint to the traditional
applications, that is they will not focus on ASIC prototyping nor the super
computer Nirvana.  From these applications, a development scenario can be
abstracted.  On the basis of on this scenario, the requirements for a set
of tools is drawn.  The process Viatek is using to develop these tools is
discussed and recent experience with applications is reviewed.  This
experience includes cases of development with conventional tools in
parallel with Viatek's approach and measurement of results.  There will be
an opportunity for extensive questions and answers and discussion.
